It was fine

I was sort of in the middle on the entertainment level. It's labeled as comedy, but there weren't any actual jokes in it, and the ending punchline was kind of a half-done looney tunes joke.

The animation was good, though I'm not much of a fan of the excessive tweening, it takes a lot of life out of the animation.

the art was fine, not very exciting looking, and Santa could have used some work. Since you tweened all of the movements, the character models stayed the same throughout the entire thing so that gets a little boring.

A good animation, but not extremely enjoyable, and probably not front page material. I know you're an awesome animator, but your latest submissions have lacked real thought, writing, or substance. Nothing really happens and what is labeled a "joke" usually isn't. I hope you improve. Good luck, and there's no shame in teaming up with a buddy for voice acting and writing if that isn't your strong point.

ha! You are quite a card

This is what newgrounds is about! You went all out! You made a freaking musical! haha, this was awesome. This had very good animation, but what I found very appealing was the character expression, the backgrounds, and things like the moon glow on Parker.

The songs were great, the jokes were awesome and very well-timed - especially the "MAYBE!"

This was overall a fantastic submission, and I demand you make more flashes stat. Great job, I'm going to go watch some more of your youtube videos.

haha that was crazy!

That was actually really scary at the end. Great frosty voice, was that you, mindchamber? I really liked that. The coloring is awesome. I like the jagged style of animating you have. Some of it seems a little jumpy instead of crazy clean, but you have such a lively frame by frame that you can really see and feel how much work goes into every frame.

Great job.

Nice job

Pretty good, I liked it. The mic quality is pretty low so you need to be careful when you record. Lower your input so you don't get as much audio peaking, and careful with those plosives (hard P's, T's, B's, etc). The voice acting was pretty good aside from the screaming - that could've been a little better and funny too in a GIR from ZIM - fashion.

Great animation, good use of tweens, and overall an enjoyable flash. I liked the Atreyu intro haha.

Btw, what's the font you used in your intro and credits? I've seen it in a few people's submissions, and I like it.

JunkFoodKing responds:

The font's called BadaBoom.

Yeah, I know that the mic quality sucks. I'm afraid it might suck a bit through the duration of Season 1 (up to Episode 5). I'm trying to rectify it for future submissions. Thanks for your review!

why even use sprites?

The spriting was very boring. The scene that was animated wasn't bad at all, and your Z-looking Link was pretty cool. Why not just animate the whole thing?

The plot...nothing happened. A atereo? A train? What does that have to do with Zelda? At least make something that played off of the actual game and made us laugh. It was just very boring, and needs more structure. If you're going to use sprites, you need a stronger story.

Good luck on your next animation.

I really enjoyed this!

I thought this was great! I loved the style of the characters, the lip sync was great. Great song choices, it was great to hear Kick it up. I knew I had heard that somewhere and then finally I remembered it was from Digimon! haha

Great job, I want to see more cartoons from you!

I'm sorry...

I couldn't really finish watching it... Whoever did the first few characters that appeared had very poor mic quality which really took me away. Kind of disappointing because I really wanted to see Rina's and Kenkaku's performance. Also, the subtitles really pushed me further away with stuff like "stuttering" and "wii-ing to We Will Rock You" when the audience can clearly tell what's going on without being it being explained in such detail.

I apologize - overall, the sprites were running pretty smoothly, but as far as audio quality, jokes, and much of the acting I saw in the first couple of minutes was very off-putting. Maybe do some more careful casting next time - When you have people's audio that sounds really muffled and hollow alongside Rina's great quality, its doesn't mix well. Next time, you should start strong with some great jokes (if it's a comedy), something that will immediately capture.

Good luck.

Nice frame by frame

Congrats on getting your first award! I'm glad you are very proud of this animation. I thought it was very well done. I really liked the little pixel creature. It flowed nicely with the music, and it is great that you are putting so much heart and effort into it. You say it was the hardest, and that's great that it paid off.

I'm not going to critique the lack of color or background if that's the way you wanted it. Some of the characters looked a little odd and need some working, but I can see a very LazyMuffin-esk style in yours. I'm not sure if he's one of your inspirations, but some of the bodies reminded me of his work.

Nice job - keep working, you have a great knack for fbf'ing. Screw tweens.

im starting to get reviews from some of the more famous ng users :D thanks for the review corey.

nice job on it

I told you how I felt about it last time you submitted. You kind of rehashed old awesome jokes rather than creating a lot of new ones. Some of the new jokes were funny, but you could have done a lot better, I know it. I don't like how you resubmitted it for more publicity, but good job nonetheless.

BigK was great as Snake, but didn't sound enough like Awesome Snake - for a big cast like this, you should get yourself a voice director. It seemed like a lot of the VA's weren't on the same page. Individually, they all did great, but they weren't in sync with each other. Also, I'd recommend just getting someone with a great range similar to Ego's to do all of the voices to keep the style up.

secondstamp responds:

Oh, a voice director huh? Sounds like something actually PROFESSIONAL lol

not your best, not your worst

Looks like you had a lot of fun making it, and that's great, but it didn't really have any "jokes." It seemed a little out of your style. Also...seeing tweens in your submission was surprising. Not that it bothers me, but surprising.

As usual, the voices were great, the jokes just weren't on it. Not as "Awesome" as usual. I loves me some Josh Tomar, but I was a little curious as to why you didn't just do those voices as well. Maybe just 'cause he's really fun to work with? Not that it matters. Anyway, great job. I like things moving so fast, but I like it when you go fast and then slow for a joke and keep going. This one was very mashy and what not. Great you had fun.

I thought the animated credits were fantastic though. I don't know why I thought that was so great.
