great stop animation!

great job! Looked great, well thought out, and nice music sync.

What did you do in After Effects?

Totsugeki responds:

Simply everything, except the preloader and the credits ;D

That was fantastic!!

I loved the art and animation, but wow the sketch was just great! Both characters were great.

I'm a sketch, stand up, and improv comedian at my school. I looove sketch, and this was great. I sensed a lot of improv, not sure, but it was well rehearsed if other wise. Fantastic job, so funny, and just great! I loved it.

I was inspired to make an improv game somewhat like this. Maybe the audience provides a product or something and while one person is trying to pitch the idea, the other person is just providing wacky and crazy support throughout. This was great.

If you have any video sketches, I'd love to see 'em. Keep 'em coming! Loved!

sirjeffofshort responds:

Awesome man! I'm glad to have helped to inspire you. I actually started in improv during my college years so best of luck to you. If you ever get any footage of how your version of the game comes out let me know.

We do have live footage, some of which can be found at our website (noreastaproductions.com) or if you youtube search 'noreastaproductions'. You can also youtube 'sirjeffofshort' if you wanna see some of the stuff I did in college. Oh the wacky fun memories. Anyways, thanks for watching and keep an eye out for new ones in the future.

a solid animation

I really liked the look of everything. The animation was done well - you use tweens in a way that doesn't bother which is good. Some of the jokes were funny, others weren't, but overall I liked it.

The voice acting quality was pretty good, the performance it self was good, but I didn't like how you did all or most of the voices yourself. A lot of people can pull that off, but having two main characters who are just regular teenagers voiced by the same guy is very noticeable. It distracted me since I could immediately tell they were both done by the same person, and one of them had a strange more open chest voice, and the other had a higher throaty voice.

They just seemed like strange choices for voices - not really cartoony, not really realistic, just a little off to me. That's just me.

Nice job.

DAGamesOfficial responds:

thanx man. well problem is that I love doing both gordon and ian. nobody else could do it, cus then it just wudnt BE gordon or Ian. so cant change the voices Im afraid. if I changed them now, people would think "wtf? thats not what ian and gordon sound like!" so yeah sorry man xP

but in any case, glad ya liked the cartoon :D

Loved it!

You have really improved! I'm glad you got the sync'ing all fixed up, I remember a while back you said you were having audio lag problems. Looked great to me. The characters look awesome! Was wondering about the little underwear outline on the soldier, made him look like an action figure lol, but it looked awesome. The eyes and facial expressions were great, especially kandi's at the end.

I wasn't sure if the soldier was supposed to be Ian in the beginning since they kind of sounded the same, but then Ian's hair at the end was a dead giveaway. Great job, dude - I hope you release toons more often, you're one of newgrounds' best in my opinion.

VACKenny responds:

Now you're just kissing my butt >:(

But yeah, I'll try to release more stuff soon, but... trying to be an animator on top of a 20+ hour work schedule and 14-16 credit hour college schedule is just stressful.

it was alright for what it was

an overall ok movie. It was entertaining - the jokes were kind of weak, but there were some pretty good ones. What dropped your score was that it really didn't show me your flash skills at all. I probably wouldn't even put something like this on youtube. I just didn't find it very funny, there was no real animation besides slight eye and mouth movements, and, besides camera angles, there was barely any movement. If you had to put one of these type movies on newgrounds, it's usually better to do some crazy stop animation or something.

It was alright, but for your next movie, I'd put a lot more into it. And if you're relying entirely on humor, I'd get some friends together to help you edit your script and strengthen and suggest jokes for you. Newgrounds also has a full arsenal of voice actors at your disposal. Don't hesitate to use them.

Good luck on your next animation.

XxwaSSupxX responds:

Woo! A helpful review haha. These are a rare gift.
I understand your points completely. And yes, I was relying on humor. And I tested the script out on about 4-5 people and they loved it.

It's not for everyone, but thanks for taking the time to write something other than "kool... funny" or "wolverine does not suck! This is why, but I won't help you and your cartoon making!"

A great comback

Back after 4 years it seems? Wow - this was an extremely professional looking animation. The camera movement and the slight easing of John's body and the other characters... fantastic! I could see this on Adult Swim at the very least - much better than many of their programs. Great job.

As for material, I loved the song! haha And I guess it wasn't originally about McCain, but that was a great change lol. The weird chorus area is so creepy and pretty cool.

What other programs did you use? Or could you really generate all those particles and crazy backgrounds and liquify his face in Flash?

SecretAgentBob responds:

I've actually submitted a few things under other accounts, so I haven't been "totally" gone, ha ha. I do want to get my more recent stuff on here though so you should see a few more of my movies being uploaded here soon.

The song was in fact originally about McCain. If you'll notice, during the last debate he said "my friends" a total of 22 times. He says it many times during every speech he gives. After noticing this I decided to make a movie about who his friends were. And they are delicious vegetables.

The characters were drawn in Flash, the backgrounds in Photoshop, and then everything was animated in After Effects and exported as video. It was in After Effects that all of the visual effects like the face melting were created.

an alright flash

This flash was pretty good on camera movement, and the fight choreography was a little stale but still good. Using Shadow and Giga Bowser was a cool idea. An interesting match.

The audio quality was strange and distorted at times especially when Bowser slid down the side of the cliff, it seemed to skip instead of loop. Also certain sounds overpowered others. I'd suggest compiling and mixing them into one sound file and then animating to that - but a lot of people don't like doing that.

The backgrounds were very pixelated as well as certain parts of the characters when shown too close up. Perhaps a smaller screen would've been a good idea. Not sure about that. Overall, good job, and congrats on 5th.

shadefalcon responds:

Thanks for the advice dude, I'll keep that in mind, and thanks.

God Bless

Shade

take it youtube

this took no effort to make. You are not an actor (not now at least), you didn't animate anything or utilize flash in any constructive way. This should not be a newgrounds submission. You could barely even understand what you were saying, and that was in no way humorous.

Though that was quite an awesome semi-circle of a couch back there. Please don't bring silly video submissions like that here. It's just wasted space.

Fautzo responds:

Says the guy with the dragon ball z picture.

haha awesome

The random scenes were just great. You guys are awesome every time. You always deliver. Great title - perfect.

The ending scene was my favorite

TommyVF responds:

Yeah, thanks! Everyone loved that one. :D

ha clever

pretty clever - I liked it. Pretty good voicing, I really liked the girl's voice.

Graphically, it was pretty impressive - not incredible animation, but your use of tweening was very good. I really loved the cartoony looks of the characters. Great job - Hope to see more animations from you in the future.

mrnihil responds:

thanks.

there will be more animation from us in the future, but not game parodies.
